It is a nectar source for the Pipevine Swallowtail, Spicebush Swallowtail, Great Spangled Fritillary, and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies. Lilium bulbs are edible but some species are very bitter. I do not know if this one is bitter or not. USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 8.
