Nepenthes lowii x ventricosa ‘Red’, a.k.a. 'Briggsiana' is a beautiful hybrid that develops thick leaves and pitchers with wide flaring mouths and burgundy and black peristomes. Thrives in a humid environment and requires a well-lit spot, preferably with bright, indirect light. Known for its insect-trapping prowess, this unique and visually appealing Nepenthes variety adds a touch of intrigue to any carnivorous plant collection. Use rainwater, distilled water or reverse osmosis water. Be careful with bottled water as these may contain salt which will kill your pitcher plant.

Something that can be found on a variety of plants is extrafloral nectaries or EFNs. These glands produce a nectar that over time, will oxidize and dry, leaving behind a hard, dark-colored spot of concentrated sugar. For most plants it attracts insects like ants to protect them from herbivores, but for carnivorous plants, it can also attract insects that the plant will eat. Sometimes, because of the high levels of humidity, saprophytic fungi or mold, will grow on the sugar residue. This forms a harmless "sooty mold" that looks like black, fuzzy spots around the nectar glands. The black spots are, in most cases, a sign of a healthy, active plant, rather than a sign of disease. They can be gently wiped off with a damp cloth.

Love the Stretch
I have two 15 ish pound dogs that love to pull and tug on this toy...all day long, every day. It's long enough for the humans in the house to also grab an end and not worry about getting nipped by playful pups. The fact that it stretches seems to be even more fun for the dogs. We have several other similar unstuffed long toys but they get very little attention. This toy is definitely unique and a cut above the other similar toys. The stretch seems to make all of the difference. If they had more animal choices, I would buy them all.

So cute!
Good size toy, but my 1yr old Jack Russell is NB match for it. It’s good quality and I’m sure it would last longer with a less aggressive chewer.

Dog loves it! Squeaky on both ends!
Bungee rope is not as resistant as I wished, but its fun nonetheless! Squeaks in head and tail. Misssteped the tail and broke one squeaker, still fun though! Toy can handle a beating. Really happy with it!

My dogs loves this toy
I got a few different toys for them today. I need to go through their toybox and get rid of some of the older ones. I can tell the youngster loves the toys. He has taken them into one of the crates and sat with them. Then he brought them back out. He fell asleep with his head against one of them. He has been playing tug of war with this one. And the older one has been running around with it too. Pup already pulled one eye off of this one. But the toy is intact.

SPOT Bungee Raccoon
Purchased 5/20. Decent dog toy. I have a Chiyorkie and he chews on his toys constantly. The squeakers went after a couple of days and then he pulled them out. I put them in the trash. After about two months he had chewed off the head and pulled the bungee out. The bungee went in the trash. I let him play with head and tail pieces for a while but the head had gotten into bad shape so in the trash it went. That left about a twelve inch piece left. He has been playing with that now about a month. He loved tearing the toy up and I do not really blame the toy. He rips up anything that is made of cloth. The only real issue I have with the toy is the two squeakers. IMO they could cause a choking or bowel blocking hazard. I just happened to catch him chewing on them after he had gotten them back. An old knotted on each end knee sock works just about as well but from then on don't leave your socks laying around. They will be fair game for you pet. lol
