Beaucarnea recurvata, commonly known as Ponytail Palm or Elephant's Foot, is a distinctive succulent native to Mexico. Its unique appearance features a stout, swollen base that resembles an elephant's foot, which stores water to endure dry conditions. Atop this base, long, thin, arching leaves cascade downward in a ponytail-like fashion, giving rise to its common name. This low-maintenance plant is not a true palm but belongs to the Asparagaceae family. Its resilience to neglect, coupled with its visually captivating form, makes it a popular choice for indoor and xeriscape gardens. The Ponytail Palm's architectural elegance and ability to thrive in low-water environments make it a favorite among succulent enthusiasts and those seeking an intriguing addition to their green spaces.  Zones 10-11

Germination

To germinate Beaucarnea recurvata seeds, first, soak them in room temperature water for 24 hours to soften their hard seed coat and improve germination. Next, prepare a seed starting tray or small pots with a well-draining seed starting mix, such as a blend of cactus potting mix and perlite. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil and lightly press them into the mix. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged by misting regularly or using a gentle watering can. Place the tray or pots in a warm location with indirect sunlight, maintaining a temperature between 70-80°F (21-27°C). Germination typically occurs within 2-4 weeks, but it can take longer, so be patient. Once the seedlings emerge, provide them with ample light and gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions if transplanting. Beaucarnea recurvata prefers bright indirect light and well-drained soil. Continue to care for the seedlings with proper watering and light as they grow into mature plants.

Great sturdy toy
Color: Cyan NylonFish
Great toy. 1 yr old puppy LOVES it! However, not good for TILE FLOORS. It's so strong and sturdy but bangs all over the tile! Enough to crack tiles 😬

American Bully Trial - Honest Review
Color: Cyan NylonFish
I have never gotten a toy that lasted more than an hour when it comes to my baby girl. She is an aggressive chewer and loves anything that squeaks. This definitely helped to keep her entertained and use her teeth. I can confidently say that this toy may last a long time but she has already ripped a piece from it. I didn’t expect anything less since she always knows how to test new toys lol. I would definitely recommend though and will be getting more for her once this one is gone. Thank you!

Hard, heavy, sharp
Color: Cyan NylonFish
This is very durable, but it is also very heavy (our dog likes to throw her toys) and after some chewing, the head and tail are very sharp

2 years later and it’s still going!
Color: Cyan NylonFish, Color: Cyan NylonFish
I have 2 dogs, a 6lb chihuahua (Lolli) and an almost 100lb German shepherd/Belgian Malinois (Uzi). Got this for Uzi, however, Lolli had other plans for it. She literally took it out her mouth and ran to hide it. It’s been over a year, closer to 2 and it’s still hanging on. Attached a photo of Lolli…

Best found
Color: Cyan NylonFish
I have a heavy heavy chewer, the only things that has escaped him were items like "kong" solid and rubber but no squeaky. He quickly lost interest in the toy; largely within a week at most and never picks it up again unless really bored. Squeaky toys had a life shelf of a week at best, that is with us taking them away to "preserve" them for longer. So far, this toy, the fish, has been the longest surviving squeaky and the longest at keeping his interest. it has received some cosmetic damage, but nothing that would make you remove the toy from his possession and it STILL squeaks.
