One of the Cold Hardiest Citrus Trees

Why Calamondin Orange Trees?

There’s nothing like the Calamondin Orange Tree: With fruit that’s a cross between a tangerine and a kumquat, this "mini-orange,” as it’s dubbed, is wonderfully delicious.

Even better? It can be grown in a container or as a hedge. In colder climates, grow the Calamondin Orange Tree in a container and move it indoors during winter months, or cover your outdoor bushes for chilly weather.

Plus, the Calamondin delights with a heavenly scent and several flushes (harvests) of blossoms and fruit throughout the year. The yellow-orange fruit of the Calamondin Orange Tree is about the size of a lime or a tangerine and has a thinner skin than most oranges, making it delectably delicate.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose a location where your tree is going to get plenty of sunlight, around 6 to 8 hours. And ensure the area has well-drained soil.

To plant in a container, choose a pot slightly larger than the shipped container, with plenty of holes in the bottom to allow for drainage. Be sure to plant in well-draining potting soil, preferably recommended for acid-loving citrus plants.

Fill your pot halfway with soil. Remove the tree from its original pot and gently place it in the potting soil. Fill in around the tree with the remainder of the potting soil but leave about an inch from the soil surface to the rim of the pot for easy watering.

Immediately after planting, give your tree a deep watering until water flows from the holes in the bottom of the pot. Finally, place your tree in an area of your home, preferably a south-facing window, where it is going to get plenty of sunlight.

2. Watering: After watering once or twice weekly, allow the top 2 to 3 inches of the soil to dry out completely before watering again.

For best results, stick your index finger into the soil down to about 2 inches. If there is moisture present, hold off on watering until it feels drier at that depth. When you do water your tree, stop once you see it escaping the drainage holes at the base of the pot.

3. Fertilizing: Feed your Calamondin during the warmer spring and summer seasons with a citrus specific fertilizer, such as the one included with our Citrus Care Kit, once every six weeks. During the fall and winter, fertilize once every 2 to 3 months. Make sure to follow the application instructions written on the fertilizer bag.

4. Pruning: Pruning can be done at any time of the year. Make 45-degree angle cuts to remove dead or crossing limbs and also to thin out the tree to allow more light to flow between the branches. After the tree fruits, remove any dead wood and ventilate the center of the tree, and remove suckers as they form/grow from the base.

5. Pollination: Our tree is self-fertile but you can pollinate your indoor trees by hand using a small, dry, fine-tipped paintbrush. Take your brush and stick it into the center of the bloom, swirling around to collect the pollen on the brush. Go to the next bloom and repeat the process until every bloom has been treated, and repeat the process once daily. Don’t wash the paintbrush until after the blooms have been pollinated. The bloom will fall off naturally and the fruit will begin to form in its place.

Navarro Has Written a J'Accuse for Our Time, a Bare-Knuckled Indictment of an Evil System
Format: Hardcover
Peter Navarro has written an exceptional book that should be required reading for those who seek to understand the abuses of the Biden presidency. The book is a poignant love story, an account of great sacrifice, and an illustration of the true totalitarian nature of the Left. It is a J'Accuse for our time. Like Zola's work, it is a bare-knuckled indictment of an evil system. Unlike Zola, this system conspired not against one man, but against the President and many others--in fact, well more than half the country. Navarro's account is a contemporary reminder of the abuses Arendt and Solzhenitsyn identified regarding not only the banality, capriciousness, and brutal incompetence of tyranny, but that one does not realize when it starts how horrific it will become. If the Left is not stopped, what they did to Navarro will segue to even greater abuses against more and more people. I Went to Prison So You Won't Have To is a warning to all Americans of what is at stake and hence is a book that Americans must read.

Find Out Who Was the Legal Secretary
Format: Hardcover
I ordered this book after watching Nuremberg with Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe because I wanted to find out who was the woman accompanying Justice Jackson to Germany. Yes, that was not his wife, it was his legal secretary, Elsie Douglas. This book is the only source I could find that goes into any detail about their relationship. What it provides is nowhere near salacious, because it is evident that Jackson took his secrets to the grave. What details it does provide about the evident love triangle that existed in Jackson's life for many years is quite sufficient to explain the events of Nuremberg.

Well written. Factual sloppiness.
Format: Hardcover
Good insight into Jackson’s approach to the law. Thoroughly researched. Well written. However, Professor White made two egregious factual errors, both of which are an indication of sloppiness on his part, as well as that of his editors and peer reviewers. First, he refers to the World War 2 Chief of Naval Operations as the Secretary of the Navy. Second he states that Los Alamos National Laboratory is in California.

Judging Jackson
Format: Hardcover
Readers interested in FDR's era, the post-war Nuremberg Trial, and/or such important U.S. Supreme Court events as the Rosenberg spy case and Brown v. Board of Education will enjoy this well-researched book. Illuminating insights as to the characters of his fellow members of the High Court, especially Justices Black and Douglas, are also present. Of special interest in today's world is Justice Jackson's thinking on the limits of Executive Power in terms of war powers and foreign relations. I do think non-lawyers will be less interested when the author, a legal scholar, sometime goes into depth exploring aspects of Justice Jackson's thoughts on opaque technical areas, such as diversity jurisdiction under the constitution. And, I fail to see the need to spend much time on Justice Black's two children, as is done in chapter two "Family Matters." Why do I need to know that his daughter was a mediocre student in college or details about her early love life? Professor White clearly admires Robert H. Jackson as a fine advocate, brilliant writer, and independent judge, while noting some of his flaws. All in all, a good biography of an important American.

This is a good book to remind us of the futility of war and the tragedies that occur because of it.
