Basagran 48SL is a selective, post-emergence herbicide powered by Bentazone 48% SL, manufactured by BASF Germany and marketed in Pakistan by Swat Agro Chemicals. Designed to effectively control broadleaf weeds, annual sedges, and yellow nutsedge, this contact herbicide is ideal for crops such as potato, peas, rice, maize, sugarcane, and soybeans.

❗ Note: Basagran does not control grassy weeds and is most effective when weeds are fully exposed and treated at the early growth stage.

Application Guidelines

  • Foliar spray: 120–150 liters of water per acre
  • Apply at 2–6 leaf stage of weeds
  • Ensure weeds are out of water and fully visible
  • For best results, spray under high soil moisture and humidity
  • Avoid application during high temperatures or before frost

Crop-specific Dosage

  • Potato: 1.5–2.5 L/ha (Apply at 10–15 cm crop height)
  • Peas: 600–700 ml/acre (At 5–10 cm crop height, under cloudy skies)
  • Rice: 1–1.5 L/acre (Reflood field 1–2 days after application)
  • Maize/Sugarcane: 1–1.25 L/acre (Repeat after 7–14 days if needed)
