Xanthe Rose Echeveria, botanically listed as Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose', is a live succulent plant selected for its distinctive form and ornamental appeal. Natural color, size, form, and presentation may vary slightly with season, maturity, and growing conditions.

Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose' is a charming succulent plant that's part of the Echeveria genus, widely admired for its aesthetic form and low-maintenance qualities. Here's a detailed description of its morphological characteristics, growth habits, maintenance points, and reproduction methods:

Morphological Characteristics

  • Shape and Size: Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose' features a compact rosette shape, typically measuring up to 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. The rosettes are densely packed with fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves.
  • Color and Texture: The leaves of 'Xanthe Rose' are notable for their soft pink to rose-red hues, which can intensify under stress from sun exposure or temperature drops. The leaf surfaces are smooth with a waxy coating that helps retain moisture.
  • Flowers: This plant produces bell-shaped flowers on tall, slender stalks that emerge from the rosette center during the spring and early summer. The flowers are usually orange or yellow, adding a striking contrast to the leaf color.

Growth Habits

  • Light Requirements: Prefers full to partial sunlight. In very hot climates, afternoon shade is beneficial to prevent sunburn.
  • Temperature Tolerance: It thrives in a temperate range of 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 26°C). While it can tolerate mild frost for short periods, prolonged exposure to temperatures below freezing can damage the plant.
  • Growth Rate: Grows moderately fast in suitable conditions and tends to fill its space with offsets that form around the mother plant.

Maintenance Points

  • Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between watering sessions. Overwatering can lead to root rot, particularly in cooler or shaded conditions.
  • Soil: Requires well-draining soil, typically a mix designed for cacti and succulents. Adding coarse sand or perlite improves drainage.
  • Fertilization: Feed with a diluted low-nitrogen succulent fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) to encourage growth and flowering but avoid over-fertilization.

Reproduction Method

  • Offsets: The most common method of propagation for Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose' is through offsets, or "pups," which naturally grow from the base of the mother plant. These can be gently removed and replanted once they have a few roots.
  • Leaf Cuttings: Leaves can be gently twisted off the rosette and placed on top of soil where they will eventually root and form new plants. This process requires patience as it can take several weeks for new growth to appear.
  • Seeds: While not the most efficient method, Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose' can also be grown from seeds. However, this method is less commonly used due to the slower growth rate and higher level of care required.

Caring for Echeveria 'Xanthe Rose' involves balancing the right amount of light, water, and temperature, making it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced succulent enthusiasts seeking a visually striking addition to their collection.

No challenge once they figure it out once, or if they have a long nose
Color: Blue
The first time I used this with my 9 month old Shepard mix, it was great. We used about 1/3 cup of her kibble and added the Nook to make it harder. It kept her working for 20-30 minutes. However, now that she knows how to remove the Nook, and stick her snout into the opening and lick up the kibble, it lasts about 5 minutes, and is no longer a challenge. She still enjoys playing with this, even when it is empty, and hasn't it destroyed it yet, so for that 3 stars.

Buy it — it’ll be your dogs best friend!
Color: Orange
Best treat toy ever! In the beginning of 2025 I bought this for my 12yr old Alaskan Malamute who loves puzzles and brain games. She loved it and played with it every day. Sadly, she passed middle of this year. Now in December, I have purchased this toy again for my newly adopted 10 month Great Dane puppy. Again, it’s an absolute hit! My Dane eats very fast, so I actually use this as a way to break up her meals. I put about half her meal (freeze dried raw kibble) in her slow feeder bowl and fill this toy about two times to feed her the other half. Also, we are crate training and before I leave the house I put treats in this toy and leave it in the crate with her. She has bad separation anxiety, but this toy actually seems to help calm her down because she enjoys it so much. I have bought many treat toys — this one is supreme. It’s not too loud or too difficult for the dogs to play with. So far it has held up without being chewed apart. It’s good quality, great size (orange for large breeds) and honestly, worth every penny.

Well made dog toy
Color: Blue
The snoops are great for our active labrador. He is a very aggressive chewer, and so far, has not destroyed a snoop yet. He has mulitples. They are a great size for filling with treats or kibble and they keep him engaged in the activity. He even likes to carry them when he does his zoomies sometimes. They are lightweight and sturdy, and the material is nice and flexible. Great toy / puzzle ball to have around for your pup!

Great for mental stimulation. Durable for my chewers!
Color: Purple Lil Snoop, Color: Purple Lil Snoop
Love these! Quality material, safe for dogs — I make my dogs home made freezer treats and fill these up with it, and serve. Keeps them busy for hours. It’s also fun for them to roll it around to get regular treats out of. Toy + treats = a very happy pup. This size I got for my puppy. The larger ones I use for my adult dogs. Super cute too, and silent! I have Mini Aussies, so it’s great mental stimulation for them. Tires them out.

Very durable
Color: Blue
I have never written a review but just have to say how much our Pitbull LOVES this toy. It is very sturdy very good since he is such an aggressive chewer. This is only the second product I have found that he can’t destroy in 5 minutes. It keeps him busy for a long time and plays with it long after the treats are gone which is good as too many treats and he would gain weight. Highly recommend it. He weighes 70 lbs and the largest one is the perfect size. Kibble doesn’t work as it empties out immediately. I use Beggin Strips cut to size just to fit in the hole—they will come out but not all at once and survive his chewing on the toy.
