 When talking about indestructible plants, we simply cannot overlook the ZZ plant. The Raven ZZ boasts deep, dark green, almost black leaves that grow in a symmetrical pattern along the main stems. Just like their lighter cousins, the new growth is a bright green, contrasting brilliantly against the mature leaves. Additionally, the ZZ plants are succulents in disguise! They keep extra water in their tuberous roots known as rhizomes, so they rarely require a thorough watering. 

Also known as the Zanzibar Gem, the ZZ plant originates from eastern Africa and is tolerant of low light, drought, and dry air – making the ZZ one of the easiest plants to care for. The medium Black Raven ZZ plant comes in a 6” pot, and will flourish in medium to low indirect bright light. Be careful to avoid direct bright light or else you risk burning the leaves! Be cautious of your pets and young children around ZZ plants: all parts of the plant are poisonous. If chewed or swallowed, symptoms can cause immediate pain or a burning sensation and swelling of the lips, mouth, tongue and throat.

The lack of internal speakers was a surprise to me, but I suppose since the lack of speakers mentioned in the product description should have tipped me off.

I started a new job a few months ago and I get to work from home one day a week. They do not pay for you to set up a home office however, so I was looking for a cheap monitor for part of my set up. I work in client service for a finance company so a lot of what I use it for is email, other conversational programs, and then our custodian software. I’m not doing anything crazy. I have it connected to a name brand laptop and it was very easy to set up with no issues. It turned right on. The picture quality is nice. Again, I’m not doing editing or anything on this so it works for what I need. It does NOT have speakers, so I do need to use the speakers on my laptop( which can be annoying), but again it’s not a deal breaker. I have been using it now for 5 months and it’s been working really well for my set up. I am thinking of getting a second monitor and I would get another of these but also I do want a speaker so I don’t know that I would get this exact version. For the price, if you are looking for something basic for normal work from home needs, this does the trick!
