Globe Amaranth can be started in pots about 4 weeks before your last frost in the spring, or direct sown in late spring once your daytime low temperatures have warmed up to the low 70's. Prior to sowing soak your seeds overnight. These require light to germinate so if sowing into pots press into your soil surface and lightly cover with vermiculite, but do not cover with potting material. In the garden sow on the surface and give them a very light dusting with screened peat to disguise them from birds.
