The most important timber pine in the South. Growing from your hands.

Pinus taeda, the Loblolly Pine, is the most commercially important timber tree in the eastern United States and the second most planted tree in the world after the coconut palm. It covers more acres of southeastern forest than any other single tree species and produces more timber volume than any other American pine. Fast-growing, adaptable, and highly productive, it is the backbone of the southern timber industry and increasingly important for pulpwood, biomass, and carbon sequestration programs. Improved seed selections have been developed for increased growth rate, straightness, and disease resistance, producing trees that outperform wild populations by measurable margins. If you are looking to buy Loblolly Pine seeds or grow southern yellow pine from seed, this is the tree that the southern forest economy is built on.

  • The most commercially important timber tree in the eastern United States
  • The second most planted tree in the world by volume, behind only the coconut palm
  • Improved seed selections offer enhanced growth rate, straightness, and disease resistance over wild stock
  • Extremely fast-growing, one of the fastest large pine species in North American horticulture
  • Adaptable to a wide range of soils across the southeastern United States

Things you probably did not know about the Loblolly Pine

It grows over 60 million acres in the southeastern United States alone. Loblolly Pine is the dominant commercial species across the entire southern timber belt from Virginia to Texas and from the coastal plain to the piedmont. The total standing volume of Loblolly Pine in the US exceeds that of any other tree species in the country.

The name means muddy hole in old Southern dialect. Loblolly was a term used in the colonial-era South for a low, muddy depression, exactly the kind of wet, poorly drained site where the tree grows naturally. The common name stuck even though the tree grows equally well on well-drained upland sites.

It sequesters carbon faster than almost any other temperate tree. The combination of fast growth and large final size makes Loblolly Pine one of the most effective carbon sequestration trees available in the eastern United States. Forestry carbon credit programs have enrolled millions of acres of Loblolly Pine plantations specifically because of the speed at which the trees accumulate biomass.

Improved seed orchards have transformed southern forestry productivity. Since the 1950s, cooperative tree improvement programs at southern universities have selected, bred, and tested superior Loblolly Pine genotypes for commercial planting. The improved selections available today grow 15 to 25 percent faster than unselected wild stock and show significantly better form and disease resistance, representing decades of scientific plant breeding.

Gets the job done.
Smells great, great price and gets the job done, especially after my cat has "accidents". These are soft, good sized wipes, very easy to use and just the right thicknesss. Pretty durable during the struggle to clean my cat but they hold up!

Hard pass. Never again.
I bought this for travel and was hoping the wipes were nice and thick. It is not. Just about the only positive about these wipes was that it smells nice. I needed several sheets versus one Costco baby wipes. Not something I expected from a company I love. I can’t live without their cat odor sprays and dog deodorizer sprays. These wipes were a huge disappointment for the high price.

Cleaning with Care: Longtime Favorite for Home and Laundry!
Scent: Lavender, Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I’ve been using this (lavender scented) cleaner for many years. It’s one of my favorite go-to solutions. Especially when paired with Mrs. Meyer’s laundry products in scents like Birchwood detergent and drying sheets. A splash of this concentrate in my laundry has been part of my routine for the better part of six years, and I love how it leaves clothes and linens feeling clean, with a balanced scent that is both sophisticated and refreshing, without total dilution and nose pollution. This multi‑surface cleaner works beautifully on floors, counters, tile, and other hard surfaces throughout the home. When used diluted as directed, it leaves behind that signature gentle, garden‑inspired aroma that guests always comment on without being overpowering. For people who enjoy a subtle, pleasant scent in their living spaces, this product strikes the right balance between effective cleaning and delightful fragrance. One of the things I appreciate about Mrs. Meyer’s products are made with plant‑derived and thoughtfully chosen ingredients, and they’re always cruelty‑free. So, you can clean your home without worrying about animal testing or harsh chemicals that many traditional cleaners contain. Regarding pets, it’s important to note that “pet safe” doesn’t automatically mean harmless if ingested or used improperly. While plant‑derived cleaners like this are generally considered less harsh than many conventional cleaners and are formulated without some of the most toxic chemicals, some ingredients (like essential oils) can still irritate or cause reactions in sensitive animals, especially cats. Always dilute the cleaner according to the instructions, ensure proper ventilation, and wait for surfaces to fully dry before allowing pets back into the area. Overall, I recommend trying this cleaner for yourself. Especially if you love gentle scents and a product that feels rooted in care and quality. It leaves your home clean with a pleasant, sophisticated fragrance that feels inviting to both residents and guests.
