“Every village has a story it doesn't tell its children. Beasts of England is a field guide to those stories.”

Beasts of England is an event anthology — eleven new short stories from some of the most distinctive voices in British weird, folk and horror fiction. Each writer was given one rule: pick a place you know and search the shadows.

The result is a national bestiary. A book that maps the country by its monsters, from a Cumbrian wood-thing with a hundred mouths to spring-heeled Jack outside a Surrey post office to whatever moves under the still water of Gormire Lake. Together they form a portrait of merry Albion that your tourist board would rather you didn't read.

A most accursed hardback.

This first edition of the Beasts of England Bestiary is a coveted tome to be locked away in your personal library where it can gather dust and an impending sense of dread. Cover-red sprayed edges reserved solely for the first-printing. Foil-stamped knotwork on the spine exclusive to first-printing. Eleven full-page plates by Michael Lacey, threaded through the stories.

The Pre-order Bundle

Once the deadline passes the bundle will only be a tale told around campfires. The book will still be available, but the rest of it won't.

  • eBook edition
  • A4 bestiary map poster
  • Tote bag

Love it
I’ve been using this desk drawer organizer for a few weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with it! The wooden design is sleek and has a nice, natural feel to it—plus, it’s sturdy and looks great on my desk. The compartments are perfectly sized for holding pens, a calculator, my watch, and even glasses. I love that it keeps everything neatly in place, so I no longer have to deal with a cluttered desk. The pen holder is a nice bonus; it can easily hold all the pens and pencils I need. It’s a compact size but still holds everything I use daily. The quality is fantastic, and it really elevates the look of my workspace. Definitely recommend this organizer if you want a practical and stylish way to keep your desk neat!

Wood & Metal Desk Organizer – Sturdy but Assembly Needed
This desk drawer organizer and pen holder is made from wood and painted metal and looks nice once assembled. The type of wood isn’t specified, but it feels heavy and solid. The pen holder requires assembly, which can be a bit tricky since no instructions are included. You need to attach the two wooden sides to the wooden bottom first, then add the metal sides. The screws are included, along with two mini screwdrivers, but the tools are very small and the wood is very hard, so I needed help to finish assembly. Once assembled, the items look attractive and feel sturdy. My organizer arrived with a small chip in one of the metal pieces, leaving a spot where the black paint is missing, which is noticeable. The organizer works best as shown in the listing photos — for larger items like glasses, wallets, cell phones, or keys. The sides of the organizer aren’t completely flush with the bottom, so very small items like paper clips could get stuck or fall through. To protect desktops, the organizer comes with four stick-on felt pads for the corners, and the pen holder has a rectangular felt pad that you attach yourself. Overall, it’s attractive, sturdy, and useful, but assembly can be a little challenging.
