Walking With Dinosaurs Neil Nightingale and Barry Cook direct this adventure feature, based on the 1999 BBC documentary series, which projects computer-animated dinosaurs into live action settings to tell the story of a young Pachyrhinosaurus. Patchi and his siblings Scowler and Juniper are born into the dangerous world of the Cretaceous period, where predators such as Gorgon the Gorgosaurus would be only too happy to make a meal of them. Can Patchi make it to adulthood and overcome the many hurdles required to become herd leader? The voice cast includes Charlie Rowe and Angourie Rice.
Beast Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn star in this British drama written and directed by Michael Pearce. Set in Jersey, the film follows Moll (Buckley), a young girl haunted by events from her past who strikes up a relationship with mysterious poacher Pascal (Flynn). However, when a number of young girls are murdered, the police soon turn their attention to Pascal, leaving Moll facing some big decisions as she goes against the wishes of her family to stand by her man. The cast also includes Geraldine James and Charley Palmer Rothwell.
Monsters Gareth Edwards directs this ultra-low-budget indie sci-fi film. Six years ago, a NASA probe holding samples of alien life crashed over Central America on its return journey to Earth. Soon after, evidence of a new life form appeared and half of Mexico has been quarantined ever since, having being designated an 'infected zone'. Now, cynical American press photographer Andrew Kaulder (Scoot McNairy), who has entered the territory in the hope of capturing the 'monsters' on camera, finds himself escorting his boss's daughter Samantha Wynden (Whitney Able) to safety across the US border after she is injured in a monster attack.
Planet Dinosaur BBC documentary series which combines hi-tech computer graphics with the latest scientific findings to provide a new perspective on the lives of dinosaurs. The documentary focuses, in particular, on dinosaurs whose existence was only discovered in the past decade - a few of whom make T-Rex seem positively friendly. The physiology, hunting methods and behaviour of these dinosaurs are discussed with reference to the fossil findings which support these theories. Narration comes from John Hurt.
