The Great Lakes that surround Michigan, are beloved and treasured. They are freshwater worlds filled with abundant life. However, certain life is more rare and dwells in the depths and should be feared rather than celebrated. Did you know that each of the Great Lakes harbor a monster in its depths. Each of the five Great Lakes harbors of vicious, one of a kind aquatic beast that is the guardian of its depths!
Lake Superior’s monster is the most fearsome. The dreaded Vermellzion has a mouth full of teeth that are larger than most of the ships that sail the water above it.
Lake Michigan’s Amarsalic is a monstrous whale-like beast with a great number of eyes and a mouth that can swallow ships whole.
Lake Huron and its Georgian Bay actually have twin deadly monsters. The Yagasel and the Thureken are deep dwelling gulper fish that love to pull entire ships down to their depths.
Lake Erie’s monster is a giant squid known as the Urukumek. Its fearsome tentacles stretch 83 feet in length.
Lake Ontario’s monster is a cyclops fish. Its giant single stadium sized eye looks straight up as it is glides across the bottom of the lake, looking for ships to snatch in its giant dagger-like teeth.
