After lots of trial and error, we've come up with what we believe is the perfect aroid growing medium recipe for all Aroid plants (and many other houseplants). Although one size does not fill all, we believe this is a great mix that is pretty versatile as it is chunky, well-draining, airy, packed full of naturally sourced nutrients, and will allow your plants to grow a healthy, strong root system, which is key to getting helping your plants truly thrive.

This is the mix that we use personally for our Aroid plants in our personal plant collection, which include Monsteras, Philodendron, Pothos, Scindapsus, Epipremnum, Syngonium, Alocasia, Hoyas, and many other plants, including Calathea, Peperomia, and Ficus plants. We've found that these plants (and many other plants that love a good chunky mix) thrive in this medium! It can also be used for non-aroid/non-epiphyte plants as a general potting mix as it is packed with some of the highest quality natural ingredients.

WHAT MAKES THIS POTTING MIX DIFFERENT?

Unlike many other potting mixes, we mix in homemade compost, made from food and plant scraps, and fish manure from our fish tanks to create a natural nutrient-rich fertilizer. It is well known that using old fish tank water to water your house plants is a great way to naturally fertilize your house plants, and is also environmentally friendly by helping to reduce water usage.

• 1QT (2 x 0.5QT Bags)  | will fill roughly 2 x 4” pots, or 1 x 6" pot 

• 2QT | will fill roughly 2 x 6” pot, or 4 x 4” pots

• 1 GAL (2 x 2QT Bags) | will fill roughly 1 x 8" pot, 4 x 6” pots, or 8 x 4” pots
