Introducing the Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi variegata, also known as Variegated Lavender Scallops, which is belongs to the Kalanchoe, opens in a new tab genus. The variegated lavender scallops get its name from the scalloped edges of its leaves, which have a lovely lavender hue.

The variegation refers to the different colors and patterns on the leaves, which can range from green to purple and even cream. This slow-growing Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi variegata is also known as Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi 'Marginata or Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi aurora borealis.

Native to the Island of Madagascar, like Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi lavender scallops, this variegated shrubby succulent, with lavender-grey-green to purple leaves with cream-colored markings, can grow up to 2 feet tall.

The stems spread out and root along the ground, forming massive colonies, and its thick, fleshy leaves are obovate or oblong, with conspicuous teeth and bulbils on the margins.

During periods of stress like heavy light exposure and drought, leaf margins will turn a brilliant pink color.

The pendant, bell-shaped flowers, which appear in late spring and early summer, have a yellow-green calyx with numerous red, purple, or blue lines and an orange-red corolla with numerous red lines. These unique flowers are known to attract hummingbirds and butterflies due to their vibrant colors and sweet nectar.

When it comes to Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi variegata care, it prefers bright, indirect light, so placing it near a window with filtered sunlight would be ideal. When it comes to watering, it's important to let the soil dry out between waterings to avoid overwatering. As for soil, a well-draining succulent mix, opens in a new tab works best.

When growing indoors, it prefers temperatures between 60-75°F. For outdoor cultivation, it is typically suited for zones 9-11, but it can be grown indoors in other zones.

For Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi variegate propagation, you can do so by taking stem cuttings and allowing them to dry out for a few days before planting them in well-draining soil. Just make sure to keep the cuttings in a warm and bright spot until they root.

Sometimes this Kalanchoe variegata is listed as Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi 'Marginata’, or Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi ‘Aurora borealis’. Give it a try and enjoy the beauty and intrigue this unique variegated lavender scallop brings to your home or garden!

Unbelievable toy for aggressive chewers
Color: Green Cactus
Great toy for aggressive chewers! I'm not one to hand out 5 star reviews but this one I 100% believe in. I bought the first one in 2023 and just replaced it because it broke. Now this is not a played with every once in a while, this was played with daily as it is his favorite toy. Very few toys last long but this one has went beyond my expectations. Could not be happier.

Not Recommended!
Color: Green Cactus
Be aware that with major chewers it is not durable. My dog tour right through it and was eating pieces off of it. Thankfully we got the pieces back out of his mouth but definitely not for tough chewers. Also only lasted 2 days in decent condition and was only used on the occasion throughout the day.

Not strong lasting
Color: Green Cactus
Didn’t even last 3 hours in my house. Too rubbery and our frenchie mix was able to bite pieces off and was trying to eat them. Don’t recommend as a super chewer or consider it durable

Very durable!
Color: Pink Cactus
One of the few actually tough chew toys for dogs who tear apart toys in seconds! My dog loves this thing and has yet to break into the rubber!
